Scholarships

The VMA proudly offers scholarships to IU School of Medicine – Evansville and Medical Professional Academy students.

Endowed Vanderburgh Medical Alliance Medical Student Scholarship (Indiana University School of Medicine – Evansville)

In the late summer of 2013, the Vanderburgh Medical Alliance accepted a challenge from the Indiana University School of Medicine – Evansville to raise $100,000 over five years to obtain a dollar-for-dollar match from the IU Foundation to provide scholarships to two Southern Indiana students attending IUSM-Evansville. With the help of Deaconess Health System, St. Vincent Medical Center (Formerly St. Mary’s Medical Center), VMA members, VMA friends and two successful fundraisers, the $100,000 pledge goal was met in the spring of 2014. The endowment was fully funded in August of 2018 to coincide with the opening of the new medical school in downtown Evansville. It is our hope that the two annual scholarship recipients will remain in southwest Indiana to practice medicine.

For those wishing to continue to donate to the principal of this scholarship, direct your giving to IU Foundation via the IUSM-Evansville and designate your donation to the Vanderburgh Medical Alliance Medical Student Scholarship, account number: 0370007031.
